Dāna - Generosity & Reciprocity

In the Buddhist tradition, dāna is the ancient practice of generosity – freely giving in recognition of what has been received. For centuries, teachings and spiritual guidance were offered without a fixed price, supported instead through voluntary generosity and reciprocity. I have increasingly come to feel that this is the way I want to share my own work.

After many years of navigating the worlds of business, wellness, and professional coaching, I find myself less and less comfortable assigning a fixed monetary value to something as human and relational as guidance, presence, and care. I also know that people’s financial circumstances vary enormously, and that ability to pay is not a measure of either need or commitment.

For these reasons, my work is now offered on a donation-only basis. There is no fixed fee and no required amount. If our work is meaningful to you and you have the means, you are invited to offer what feels appropriate and sustainable in a spirit of reciprocity. If your circumstances allow you to give generously, your generosity also helps make it possible for me to work with those who have less.

Dāna is not about receiving something for nothing, nor is it simply another way of setting a price. It is an invitation to participate in a different kind of exchange – one rooted in generosity, trust, gratitude, and our shared humanity.
