Source Coaching

Clarity · Change · Meaning · Direction

Begin with What Is, Here and Now

Perhaps something in your life is changing. Perhaps something needs to.

You may be facing a transition, questioning old assumptions, struggling with a decision or relationship, or finding that something which once gave your life shape and meaning no longer quite fits. Or there may be nothing obviously “wrong” at all—only a quiet sense that something more authentic is asking to be lived.

Source Coaching offers a place to slow down, listen more deeply, and explore what is asking for your attention.

Why “Source”?

I use the word Source deliberately.

Over many years of spiritual practice, inquiry and lived experience, I have come to trust the underlying, overriding, eternal “spring” from which all that is—time, space, consciousness and life—continuously arises.

People have given it countless names: God, the Divine, Spirit, the Creator, the Great Mystery, universal consciousness. No name quite contains it, and I don’t pretend to know precisely what it is. But its presence, and my relationship to it, have become fundamental to how I understand life and my place within it.

Source Coaching begins with Source and, ultimately, arrives back at Source. You don’t need to understand it as I do, adopt spiritual language, or subscribe to any particular tradition. You may understand Source as God or Spirit, as consciousness, nature, the mystery of existence, your own deepest nature—or simply as something you don’t yet have words for.

What may matter most to you at this point is that beneath the noise, the constant doing, the fear, the conditioning and expectations that so easily shape our lives, there is the possibility of a quieter, more peaceful, deeper, more powerful and fulfilling place that we can begin to experience, spend more time living from, and through which find greater clarity, authenticity and connection.

It isn’t necessarily about transcending the ordinary difficulties of being human or arriving at some permanent state of bliss. For most of us, it is about being better able to meet life as it is—with greater acceptance and presence; more appreciation, if not gratitude, for what is; more compassion, empathy and forgiveness for ourselves and others; and a greater capacity for contentment and joy.

It is about learning to live more from your heart, your body and your soul; it’s about living the love that you actually are.

It’s about becoming more fully human.

Coaching, and More Than Coaching

I am an ICF Professional Certified Coach, and the foundations and practices of professional coaching—including deep listening, inquiry, reflection, perspective and personal agency—are an important part of how I work.

But Source Coaching also reflects a much longer journey.

For more than forty years, I have studied, practiced and explored contemplative practices, meditation, yoga, spirituality, personal development, natural health and the endlessly fascinating mystery of being human. What I bring to Source Coaching has grown from all of it—not as a collection of techniques to be applied, but as experience to draw upon when and where it may be useful.

Sometimes we talk. Sometimes we sit quietly. Sometimes we turn our attention to what is happening in the mind, what is being experienced in the body, what is moving through the heart, or what may be stirring at the level of soul or Spirit. Sometimes a practical question about what to do next opens into a much larger question about how you want to live.

There is no formula.

There is simply you, what you bring, and a willingness to discover together what may be useful, true and alive.

What Might Bring You Here

There are countless reasons we might find ourselves wanting a fellow traveler to accompany us for a while—someone who truly cares, who will listen, offer perspective, and help us see more clearly.

You may come with questions about work, relationships, family, health or identity; familiar patterns that continue to reappear; something you are ready to understand, change or release; grief for what has been lost; uncertainty about what comes next; or a longing to make peace with some part of yourself or your life.

You may be questioning what gives your life meaning, exploring your relationship with spirituality, purpose, soul or Spirit, or feeling drawn toward a life with greater presence, gratitude, compassion, connection or joy.

And sometimes there is no crisis, problem or decision at all.

You may simply be curious. Growing. Changing. Wanting to know yourself more deeply, live more consciously, or explore what else might be possible.

You don’t need to have it figured out, know what you’re looking for, or arrive with a particular outcome in mind.

Wherever you find yourself, that’s where we’ll begin.

A Different Kind of Conversation

Coaching, as I practice it, isn’t about giving advice, telling you how to live, or supplying answers that ultimately belong to you.

Nor do I believe that every difficulty needs to become a problem to be fixed or a project of self-improvement.

What I offer is experience, perspective and genuine care. I listen carefully, ask useful questions, notice patterns, challenge when challenge is useful, and help create the conditions in which you can hear yourself more clearly.

I bring what I know and what I’ve learned, but I also bring curiosity about what I don’t know—especially about you.

No training, philosophy or spiritual tradition can tell me precisely what your experience means or what is right for your life.

After decades of doing this work—and considerably longer being a human being—I’ve come to trust that meaningful conversations don’t always need to know where they’re going before they begin.

They need attention, curiosity, honesty, heart, openness, and enough room for something unexpected to emerge.

Sometimes that produces an answer. Sometimes a better question. Sometimes simply a little more space.

All three can be useful.

Begin Where You Are

You don’t need to know whether Source Coaching is precisely the “right” doorway.

If something here resonates, we can begin with a conversation and see what emerges.
